Michael S. Welch, Special Agent in Charge of the Indianapolis Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), requests the public’s assistance in locating LAMAR EDWARD SANDERS of Blue Island, Illinois. 

At approximately 8:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 5, 2008, a female resident of Portage, Indiana, and her 10-year old daughter were confronted outside of their apartment by two black male subjects and forced, at gunpoint, back into their apartment.  The subjects ordered the female to travel to her place of employment in Chicago, Illinois, and obtain a large sum of money.  One subject stayed behind in the apartment with the 10-year old, while the female and other subject traveled to Chicago.  A short time later the subject was arrested without incident by officers of the Chicago Police Department.  The subject was subsequently identified as RALPH SCOTT of Chicago, Illinois.  The other subject drove the 10-year girl to Chicago, Illinois, and dropped her off on the street near her mother’s place of employment. 

Through investigation it was determined that the unknown subject was identified as LAMAR EDWARD SANDERS. 

On January 7, 2008, a federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court, Northern District of Indiana, charging SANDERS and SCOTT with violations of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1201 and Title 18, United States Code, Section 2,
Interstate kidnapping.  SANDERS remains at large.

SANDERS is described as a black/male, 30 years of age, 5’10” tall, 185 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes. 

SANDERS should be considered Armed and Dangerous.  Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts, are asked to contact the FBI Gang Response Investigative Unit (GRIT) Office at (219) 885-1055.
