For Immediate Release:

Keith L. Lourdeau, Special Agent in Charge of the Indianapolis Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced today the arrest of JEREMIE LEWIS, age 23, of Chicago, Illinois.

At approximately 5:30 P.m., yesterday, LEWIS was arrested at a residence located in Lafayette, Indiana, without incident, by Special Agents of the Indianapolis and Chicago FBI and Detectives with the Lafayette, Indiana, Police Department and Chicago, Illinois, Police Department.

On 10/14/2006, Robert Thompkins was shot and killed after a physical altercation with JEREMIE LEWIS, and his brother, ORLANDO LEWIS, age 26, in Chicago, Illinois. On 02/01/2007, a warrant charging ORLANDO LEWIS with First Degree Murder was issued by the Circuit Court of Cook County. Then on 02/08/2007, a Federal arrest warrant was obtained in the Northern District of Illinois (NDI), Eastern District, charging ORLANDO LEWIS with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP), in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1073.

On 02/09/2007, a murder warrant was issued for JEREMIE LEWIS by the Circuit Court of Cook County. Then on 02/15/2007, a Federal UFAP warrant was issued in the NDI, Eastern District, for JEREMIE LEWIS.

ORLANDO LEWIS remains a fugitive and is considered Armed and Dangerous. Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is requested to contact law enforcement. A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to his arrest.
