Two Men Indicted for Trafficking Marijuana into Terre Haute Federal Correctional Complex – an Inmate and His Brother

Timothy M. Morrison, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, announced that DANA T. HARRELL, 21, Indianapolis, Indiana and ANTHONY S. HARRELL, Jr., 26, an inmate at the Federal Correctional Complex, Terre Haute, Indiana, were indicted by a federal grand jury sitting in Indianapolis for providing and possessing contraband in prison, following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The indictment alleges that on December 24, 2008, DANA T. HARRELL knowingly provided marijuana, to his brother, ANTHONY S. HARRELL, Jr., an inmate at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Haute, Indiana during a visit.

According to Assistant United States Attorney James M. Warden, who is prosecuting the case for the government, DANA T. HARRELL and ANTHONY S. HARRELL, Jr. each face a maximum possible prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum possible fine of $250,000. An initial hearing will be scheduled before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The indictment is an allegation only, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at trial or by guilty plea.
