Missouri Man Charged with Bank Robbery
Timothy M. Morrison, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana,
announced that THOMAS E. TUCKER, 44, of Moscow Mills, Missouri, was indicted by a
federal grand jury sitting in Indianapolis for armed bank robbery and use of a firearm in relation
to a crime of violence, following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The indictment alleges that on April 21, 2009, TUCKER entered the First Bank branch in
Poseyville, Indiana wearing a mask, pointed a firearm at bank tellers, ordered the tellers to give
him the bank’s money, and removed approximately $25,900 from the Bank.
According to Assistant U. S. Attorney Todd S. Shellenbarger, who is prosecuting the case
for the government, TUCKER faces a maximum possible prison sentence of 20 years for the
bank robbery charge and life imprisonment for the use of a firearm in relation to a crime of
violence charge. An initial hearing will be scheduled before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in
Evansville, Indiana.
The indictment is an allegation only, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless
and until proven guilty at trial or by guilty plea.
