Timothy M. Morrison, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana,
announced that ARMANDO PATINO SANCHEZ, 35, of Evansville, Indiana, was sentenced to
11 months imprisonment late yesterday by U.S. District Judge Richard L. Young following his
guilty plea to a charge of immigration document fraud and a charge of re-entry into the United
States after deportation. This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of
Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force.
Between April 24, 2007, and May 3, 2007, SANCHEZ acquired a fraudulent immigration
document for an undercover FBI informant in Evansville. SANCHEZ had been previously
deported from the United States to Mexico on or about December 15, 2001, at Brownsville,
Texas. His return to the United States without permission was unlawful.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd S. Shellenbarger, who prosecuted the case for
the government, Judge Young also imposed 2 years supervised release following SANCHEZ’s
release from imprisonment. SANCHEZ will be subject to deportation after completion of his
sentence.
